Albright Knot

AdvancedLine to Line

Built specifically to join two lines of very different diameters, like thin braid to a thick mono or fluoro leader. The thicker line forms a loop, and the thinner line wraps tightly around both strands before locking back through — a strong, dependable bridge between mismatched lines.

Profile

  • Strength: 6/10
  • Ease: 3/10
  • Speed: 3/10
  • Reliability: 6/10
  • Versatility: 6/10
  • Compactness: 6/10

How to Tie It

  1. Form a loop in the thicker line and pass 10-12 inches of the thinner line through it.
  2. Wrap the thinner line tightly around itself and both strands of the loop, working back toward the loop's open end, for 8-10 turns.
  3. Thread the thin line's tag end back out through the loop the same way it entered, then pull both lines steadily to cinch the wraps tight and trim both tag ends.

Best For

  • Braid
  • Monofilament
  • Fluorocarbon

Tips

  • The bigger the diameter difference between the two lines, the more wraps you should add for a secure hold.
